India has now become the fastest growing market for the products related to home furnishing throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Nowadays those who are going to buy home, have their own preferences according to the current trend and fashion. This thing works very smoothly in big cities but the mini-metro cities and smaller cities and towns are not that much familiar to the new trends like in developed cities.

The increasing demand for affordable home décor inspired Pranjal Agrawal, a 25 years old youngster form Kota, Rajasthan to start his own design studio in 2018. In Tier II cities, while purchasing furniture, consumers generally compromise in one of the three important things – price, durability and design.

Keeping this problem in mind, Pranjal founded Hermosa Design Studio. The word Hermosa means beauty in Spanish language. This studio is pushing itself towards being a popular brand, beyond just a startup. Recently, Hermosa studio has collaborated with designer Gauri Khan and they are planning together to launch a new collection of designs.

Here’s How It Began

After completing his graduation in banking from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, Pranjal came back to his hometown for doing some meaningful projects in the niche of Design needs of consumers in Tier II cities. Modern School, Kota; the school where Pranjal had completed his high school, was opening its new branch. It was a big opportunity for Hermosa Design Studio. He, therefore, approached the school with a proposal and they accepted it. Pranjal did the office spaces with furniture from Hermosa’s interior design collection.

Within a span of 2 years, Hermosa transformed itself from a boutique store to an experience centre located in an area of 2 lakh square foot with 200+ employees who are experts in designing niche.

Design And Quality Offered By Hermosa

Hermosa offers the furniture which is according to quality standards as well as customizable as per the preference of the consumer. Hermosa’s collection includes high-design sofa sets, side tables, beds, TV units, cupboards, dressing tables, chairs, storage cabinets and all the items which can be included in home and office décor.

The entire collection is made of Acacia wood sourced from Rajasthan. All the products which Hermosa offers are totally made in India. Its all the pieces are manufactured at its factory located in Kota. 

Hermosa Design Studio deals in furniture related to residential, institutional and commercial sectors. It offers a wide range of products according to the price. On an average, cost of these products varies from Rs 500 and touches the highest cost above Rs 1 lakh.

Collaboration With Gauri Khan



Hermosa has recently collaborated with popular designer Gauri Khan for launching a new collection.

On this collaboration, she says," I’m excited to work closely with the finest minds at Hermosa Design Studio for creating a line incorporating our design philosophies in all the best ways possible."

Aiming To Touch 100 Crore Per Annum In Next 3 Years

Hermosa is planning to enter the ecommerce market very soon. Now clients purchase the products directly from the retail store of Hermosa but very soon the website will be launched to make this brand familiar throughout India. Within previous two years, 18% growth has been seen in the per annum revenue of Hermosa. It generated revenue worth Rs 12.8 Crore previous year.

According to Pranjal, CEO and founder of Hermosa, after launching the website, they will focus on earning 40% of their revenue from ecommerce industry, 20% from retail and remaining 40% from B2B and exports. That’s why he is aiming annual revenue of 75-100 Crore in upcoming three years. There is one more strong reason also behind this. The global home décor market which was valued at 616 billion dollars in 2019, is expected to reach 839 billion dollars by the end of 2027.
