Apple iPhone SE 3 expected To Launch Next Year
Apple is expected to show some love for its iPhone SE series by launching an updated variant next year.
According to a DigiTimes report, Apple plans to launch the iPhone SE 3 in the first half of 2022. The new series phones are said to have better internals than the iPhone SE models currently in the market.
DigiTimes' report is in line with a report from reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month, which said that the iPhone SE will get an updated processor and 5G capabilities next year. Kuo said that the marketing of the iPhone SE is good for customers who want to buy a smaller iPhone. He added that the new iPhone SE 3 will be "the cheapest 5G phone ever".
It's an interesting claim, and while we think it might be the cheapest 5G iPhone, we're not entirely sure it's the cheapest 5G phone. We'll just have to wait for Apple to launch the device and see what prices we get for it.
The iPhone SE was first updated in April last year with the A13 Bionic chip borrowed from the iPhone 11. It also had a bigger screen, a new design, and better cameras than its predecessor. The upcoming iPhone SE 3 looks like there will be relatively few changes, but we will see a better processor and 5G capability.
It is also worth noting that the iPhone SE 3 is expected to feature a similar design to house Apple's TouchID sensor and the home button. The iPhone SE is currently the only phone in Apple's iPhone lineup with this design, and the new one shouldn't be any different. All the design changes for the iPhone SE range are reserved for the version coming in 2023, so it's too early to talk about it.
