Nykaa's Founder Falguni Nayar Becomes Self-Made Female Billionaire Of India

Falguni Nayar, the founder of the e-commerce cosmetics brand, became the seventh female billionaire in India following the Nykaa Initial Public Offering (IPO). According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, whose net worth rose to $ 6.5 billion, Nayar took the position of India's richest self-made billionaire on Wednesday.

Nykaa made a successful debut in the stock markets during its IPO, with 82 times as many subscriptions registered on the site as it was offered. The company has raised 2,396 rupees from anchor investors.

Parent company FSN E-Commerce Ventures became the first female-led unicorn to be listed on the Indian Stock Exchange. In August of this year, the company entered the unicorn club.

Nykaa, which means heroin in Sanskrit, was founded in 2012 by Nayar. The company is based in Mumbai and started out as an online retail portal for fashion and beauty products. The company currently owns 76 offline stores in addition to an online store. Nayar participates in the company through two family trusts and seven other parent organizations.

The company offers a wide range of products ranging from lipsticks in various shades to nail paint and foundation to match skin tone, skin type, and local Indian climate.

Falguni Nayar is the seventh member of the Indian Billionaire Women's Club.
