"There is no need for a scene in the story, and if the creators want to add it, there should be a warning trigger for women who have gone through the trauma of a miscarriage,” the complainant states. The OTT giant subsequently said, "As it is a production managed by partners [RSVP Movies and Flying Unicorn Entertainment], we reached out to the production company to share the complaint."
Ghost Stories was an anthology for four absurd stories that hit a streaming platform in 2020. A film in the anthology was directed by Anurag Kashyap and starred Shobhita Dhulipala. Woven around the trauma of a mother facing miscarriage, the film had terrifying scenes to portray her PTSD.
Anurag Kashyap expressed distrust of the complaint, saying: "That's how it started ... A complaint against Ghost Stories reached Netflix. It's the end," he said. This comes at a time when new rules and regulations are implementing content on the digital space, revising old movies and shows again.
