Like every one of you, I'm also facing challenges when it comes to going outside after lockdown! Social anxiety is very common and nothing to feel bad about. COVID 19 has changed our lives completely, so it's a common journey for everyone across the world.

Now as our economy reopens, you may find you to have an anxiety to go out and socialize. We better call it "social anxiety". No matter previously how much you enjoyed going out and being around with other people, you may now not feel that comfort anymore!

So here’s how to manage things as you and your family enter this new normal:

Take baby steps to ease out:

The very first day when you plan to step out of the house start with as little as going for a walk or socializing with someone whom you are extremely comfortable with. I'm sure it will help.

Baby steps are the keys to deal with it.

If you’re concerned about going to work then try to be patient with yourself and others. As you are not the one facing the issue. Many people around you are likely to deal with social anxiety right now. So, give yourself time to cope up.

Precautions to be taken:

If the fear of getting the virus from other people when you’re out is bothering you, do what you can to keep yourself safe.

Even if see everyone around you isn’t worried, it’s still okay for you to be worried and concerned about it. “Remember, no one has ever been through anything like this before, so no one really knows how to do it right. Even experts don’t have all the answers, so it’s normal to have your own concerns and doubts.

Normalize life like before:

Your routine has changed since this pandemic began. You may have spending more time indoors being less active.

A great way to help with this transition is to get back to your old schedule. This will make help you feel normal. Also, try to visualize situations in your head prior going out so that once you go out you know what new to do now. Thus, you can then easily accept the new routine.

Share your thoughts:

As we all know sharing is careing. This is a complete new situation, so you will definately have experiences to be shared. Talking to someone will help you realize that you are not the one feeling like this as all of us are on the same page.

If all of this doesn't work never hesitate to get professional help. Reach out to a medical professional via a telehealth video call so you don’t have to go into an office. They may prescribe medication or help you find new ways to cope during this time.
