Alert: These ‘secret’ Indian Beaches Will Make You Go Gaga!

India has a long coastline with a stretch of 7500 kilometers and this majestic coastline stores in it, some of the beautiful beaches in the world. However, only some of them have become popular and been commercialized. We always picture Baga or Calangute in the name of good beaches. But, there remains a large number of tranquil beaches that are largely unexplored and are breathtaking vacation spot for those who are fond of beaches.

The best part is each one of the following has the absolute best to offer to you in their own different ways. From tranquility to crazy night parties, Indian beaches have it all.

 Gahirmatha Beach, Orissa

This beach, located deep inside the Bhitarkanika National Park, has been called one of the best beaches of India by some people who’ve visited it. Gahirmatha beach is extremely hard to access which makes it one of the least crowded beaches of India. It’s a breathtaking view and golden sands can make anyone’s heart full so easily. And not just this, the real beauty of the beach lies in the fact that Gahirmatha is home to the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles. Lakhs of turtle hatchlings visit this beach every year, in the month of April, creating an unmatched and incredible sight!

Butterfly beach, Goa

Goa is not only prominently known for its beaches but also the crowds those beaches bring. But this one here makes a total exception. Located to the south of Goa, Butterfly beach is probably the least crowded yet extremely beautiful beach of Goa. This tiny beach is inaccessible by roads and can only be reached by boat. The number of ‘hidden beaches’ in Goa has been in a stable decline since most of them have been becoming rapidly commercial. But this one has surely succeeded in maintaining it’s ‘hidden tag’

Paradise Beach, Pondicherry

Paradise beach in Pondicherry is the greatest asset Pondicherry has and ironically, it is its poor connectivity to the town. Reaching the beach by road is extremely hard and hence, it is preferred to reach there by boat. It is this lack of accessibility that has maintained the tranquility of the beach. It is not just beautiful, but also, pristine and untouched. Paradise beach is located at the mouth of the Chunnamber River, which is just south of Pondicherry. It is just a short boat ride from Chunnamber Boathouse and boasts some of the best views of the Bay of Bengal.

Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep

There are no second thoughts about the fact that Lakshadweep is blessed with serene and exotic beaches in India. Azure blue waters and pristine beaches are what it’s best known for. Beaches such as Bangaram or Agatti have become more commercialized, but one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in the archipelago is Minicoy Island Beach. It is the southernmost island in Lakshadweep. However, the beach draws far fewer visitors than other popular ones due to the lack of accessibility and a far distance from the airport. The island has a beautiful brackish water lagoon in the center, with the beach located between the sea and the lagoon. The Minicoy Islands are counted among the most beautiful in the world.

Secret beach, Kerala

As the name speaks for itself, this ‘secret beach’ is secretly situated in Kerala and is extremely underrated. It is home to a small coastal community in a town called Alleppey. This beach attracts fewer tourist visits in Kerala which maintains the beauty of it. It is a great combination of beauty and serenity. One can enjoy the local cuisine and learn a lot about the local culture here. If you’re heading to Kerala, make sure you add the secret beach to your list.
