Leaving The Dream Life behind In London, The IIM Alumni Now Teach The Village Children

Coming from a middle-class family in Kolkata, Shuvajit Payne has had to make efforts to meet his basic needs, let alone his wish list. He noticed that his father was worried about money and that financial constraints were always a problem when he was growing up. He knew from the beginning that spending money was not an option and he grew up with intuition.

Shuvajit had no idea what kind of work he was doing, as his choice was unusual for a wave. He obtained an economics degree from Presidential College, Kolkata, and later held an MBA from IIM, Lucknow. He had no plans to do an MBA but when he saw his friend preparing for the CAT, he was inspired to do the same. Coming to a family with fewer skills, he never grew up with anyone to guide or advise him. He accidentally collided with a friend and earned an MBA degree from one of the most famous colleges in India.

He found the Presidential College to be a place where everyone talks about world change, activism, freedom of speech, the fight for rights, and the destruction of the system. IIML is completely different, but then most small dream engineers talked about ideas that can disrupt a situation - out of the box, another big thing, and everything else.

A few years later, he found himself in this high-rise building in London, working on a workstation to improve a powerful, revenue-tracking system for oil companies. He had a comfortable office, a great work culture, challenging tasks, smart and funny work colleagues, and of course, and was very comfortable in a great city.

One fine day, he took a picture of his window on his way to the office and posted it on a social networking site stating that it was his office window. Someone commented on "which" and had no answer. Excited, he quit his job and returned to India.

Meanwhile, a friend sent him a link to an SBI Youth for India scholarship - the program was launched for the first time. He had no precedent and just said, "You will stay in the village and work on its development. It was interesting and it turned out that way. In a few weeks, in 2011, he was transferred to a part of the NGO MS Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF). He had to think of something that could change people's lives. There is no doubt about that."

The villagers came to him and asked him if he could speak English fluently. He was able to do that, so he worked with a group of 12 students for more than three months. He agreed to speak English occasionally, but fluently.

"Why would this happen to me? If I dig deeper, I think I'm pretty much all my students - a confused student with no direction. I started to enjoy my job. Well, I finally touched the goal of education," he said. said.

He gradually began to work with a skilled team of managers, teachers, volunteers, peers, and support staff. "At that time I was a volunteer with a nominal scholarship. Today, this is my job. Yes, I am not paid in pounds, but I am paid enough to pay my bills and cover any emergencies. For the schools I work with them, I have few financial resources, to the point where it would close if we didn't find support, "he said.

These are night schools for children from remote rural communities who are unable to attend day schools because they have to meet the demands of life such as raising cattle, attendance is the daily work of parents, or managing homes when parents earn money. They need the education to know the world they can access with their potential. These schools aim to gradually connect them with public schools.

To meet their needs, Ketto has launched a huge fundraiser. "It simply came to our notice then. Anyone who can support will provide much-needed help to the child who really deserves it. Currently, the only stage I look forward to is to continue these 30 schools with 1,200 such students. "

His story teaches us that instead of running after money, we should follow our hearts.  All he won came from making the right decisions at the right time. Today, he runs night schools for children and makes his accomplishments positive for the future.
