Their franchise of an old product, which is brought to the market with a modern twist, is valued at 66.60 million pounds(Oct 2020), which converts to 630 crore Indian Rupees. However, for these businessmen, the dream is to have around 250 Cake Box stores across the globe.
Started with a small shop with just as a cake shop on Green Street in Upton park of London around 10 years ago in 2008, has listed in the fastest-growing private companies.
So, How come a small cake shop went on to become Britain's one of the fast-growing cake shops?
Cakes are being sold for generations, but with the rising numbers of vegetarians in London, egg-free cakes are now twirled. The idea was born when Sukh’s daughter asked for an eggless cake. The family, who follows a strict Lacto-vegetarian diet, noticed that London had very few vegetarian food outlets. That’s when the cousins took it as a business idea and turned it into a hugely profitable business.
The rags to riches story of Cake Box owners express the Indian ethos of determination and hard work. For these businessmen, the big dream is to have over 250 Cake Box stores across the globe. It is indeed set to become a reality as they prepare to raise money through stock market valuation.
Since the company is leading with its finest quality 100% egg-free cakes, has touched millions across the UK, it was recently featured on The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 list of Britain's fastest-growing private companies.
"In 2008, we opened our very first Eggfree Cake Box store, and now 10 years later we are pleased to announce that we are opening our 90th branch in the UK. We plan to open another 30 stores in the next 12 months. Our aim is to have at least one Eggfree Cake Box branch in every major town across the UK," said the company.
They have invented a recipe that helps them to make eggless cakes, but with the same taste and sponginess, which is otherwise compromised in other eggless cakes.
The success story
In 2017, the company launched a website with a Click and Collect feature. It allowed users to order a cake from a fixed catalog so that they can just enter the store, pick their order up without waiting for it. The website also shows the ingredients for all of their cakes for customer validation and satisfaction. They have started offering muffins, 100% pure buffalo milk barfi, and egg-free cheesecake and suggest their regular customers subscribe to their website to learn of new products that they launch.
They are proud to deliver fast service. According to them, the average waiting time for personalized cakes is as little as 20 minutes and for wedding cakes, they deliver within a day.
