The Story Of Anu Meena, a Girl From Rajasthan, Who Helped India's Farmer After Graduating From IIT Delhi

It is clear that none of us will survive without farmers. Nevertheless, the farming community does not make much profit, which makes it difficult to survive. To narrow it down, a seven-year venture closes the gap between farming and business.

We all know that the reason for the decline in farmers' wages is a large number of intermediaries between them and their final customers. Farmers are looking for intermediaries because they cannot cover logistical costs themselves. However, everything in this world has a solution. To solve this problem, a start-up has been set up that benefits farmer in particular. Anu Meena is from the small town of Manoli in Rajasthan. She saw that her grandfather, who was a farmer, was having trouble selling his product. Many farmers experienced the same problems.

After completing her graduation from the IIT in Delhi, she decided to resolve this issue with the foundation of  Agrowave, an agri-tech company. Agrowave aims to make sure the best price for farmers by incorporating technology. They strive to organize the existing supply chain through research, technology, and analysis.

To start a business, Anu had to borrow money from a few friends and seniors but soon managed to get start-up funding through Daffodil Software Ltd., founded by Yogesh Agarwal. This gave the company a boost and they started to focus on the real issue - how to offer a better price to farmers. They started delivering fresh fruits and vegetables to shops, residences, canteens, restaurants, and more.

Anu has now partnered with Payal Jawalkar and Arun Yadav to help him with Analytics and Agrowave operations. Among many other youth and hobbyists, Agrowave's organizational structure is primarily focused on teamwork. "We start not only with an individual role but also with taking responsibility for the work required," says Anu.

As there are no third parties in the field of logistics and cost management, they have to rationalize their transport costs themselves. Determining quality according to customer needs is also a difficult task because it is individually time-consuming.

With over 50,000 continuous transactions every day, Agrowave has 30 customers and 50 farmers. They also concentrated revenues of Rs 1.2 million in six months. The team wants to expand the business in different cities to improve connectivity and benefit as many farmers as possible.
