To Improve Privacy Apple Launches AirTag Detector App for Android
Apple is launching its Tracker Detect app on Google Play.

Apple Inc said on Monday it had released an Android app to help users scan nearby AirTags or other trackers for similar items that they might be traveling with without their knowledge, in an effort to increase privacy.
The Tracker Detect app, launched by Apple on Google Play, says a user can scan for AirTags or compatible devices if they thought someone was using it to track their location. AirTags are small devices that can be attached to items such as keys and wallets to locate them when they are lost.
Apple said the app allows Android users to proactively search for trackers for items they no longer own. If such a tracker has been moving with the user for more than 10 minutes, the app will help locate it by playing audio and providing guidance to disable it.
"We are raising the level of privacy for our consumers and the industry, and we hope that others will follow," an Apple spokesman said in a statement.
