How Auto-Driver Daughter Wins Crown Of Being Miss India Runner Up 2020?

Never Lose Hope and Stay Determined

"My parents were shocked when they heard that I wanted to be Miss India." They were not sure about this job, since I come from a district where girls get married or do government work. My mother said "aukat se badhkar sapne nahi dekne chahiye", so I decided to pursue my desires and prove to myself and everyone that the impossible can be accomplished” - Said Manya.

This charming girl dreams of such a day from her birth. She will not let her background stand in the way of her big dream, explaining that she cannot live a normal life. Fighting was an integral part of his life, but he never gave up despite the challenges. Even when people around her tried to pull her down, she got up and walked forward because she knew that this was the only way to achieve what she always believed she was capable of.

Outline of its humble beginnings

Manya's life was complicated because her father was able to earn very little money driving an auto-rickshaw and yet she was very proud of her background as well. Although she had to go without food, sleep and walk miles just to save a few rupees, she appreciates her parents' hard work. When she arrived for the congratulation ceremony at her university in Mumbai, she made sure she stepped out of the autorickshaw that her father was driving and posed with him.

When Manya Singh's parents accompanied her to school to return home, she touched her mother's feet to get the blessing. And she wiped away the happy tears streaming down her proud father's face. This mixed feeling moment is a reflection of her humility and gratitude.

Roadmap from UP to Mumbai

Manya was born in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. Her parents and Manya worked hard to establish themselves at Lohiya Inter College in Sahwa, UP. When Singh felt in a cage in her house in Uttar Pradesh, which felt too distant from her dreams, she fled her village after finishing high school.

She said - "I came to Kurla railway station by train from Gorakhpur to Mumbai. Since I was born in Kandivali, I directly came to that place. Her family soon followed her to Mumbai, but the war in the big city was yet to end. Not having enough money, Singh got a job at a pizza shop, which helped her finish high school. "I would clean the floor, prepare the dishes, and also sleep in the warehouse."

Fight Back The Patriarchy For Dreams

In an interview, Manya said: "I was 15 years old when I first watched the Miss India parade - I thought," One day I will win the crown and be proud of it. "But coming from a patriarchal family, I was told that women are inferior to men.”  But Tauji would say, "Ladkiyon ko padhai karke bhi shaadi hi karni padti hai." participated in the audition for more than 10 competitions, but they said, "Shakal achi nahi hai" or "you don't even know English" Things were not so easy to tackle but positive outlook towards problems help me to stand out. When I needed money to buy clothes, I wiped the floor and observed surrounded people dressing & talking sense. It was a huge learning for me all year when I worked there. "

Privileges and money do not guarantee success, and Manya Singh is a perfect example of this. Her perseverance, determination, hard work, and zeal led her lifelong dream to come true. Her humble background does not represent the chains that surround her but describes her strength. Manya Singh is not only an inspiration for girls and women from disadvantaged sections of Indian society but also a hero for those who try to break the rules of patriarchy and prejudice.
