Rupee vs Dollar: Rupee Reaches Ten-Week high, Gains 53 Paise Against Dollar

In the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee today (Friday) gained 53 paise to close at 73.69 against the dollar. It closed today at a ten-week high. Earlier on June 16, the best closing of the rupee has happened. The rupee opened at 74.17 at the beginning of trading in the currency exchange market. During trading, it was from Rs 73.69 to Rs 74.69. Then it closed 53 paise higher at Rs 73.69 per dollar.

Good bounce after 16 April

The 30-share index of the Bombay Stock Exchange closed at 56,124.72, up 175.62 points. According to Dilip Parmar, Research Analyst, HDFC Securities, the rise in foreign exchange inflows ahead of the Jackson Hole conference in the evening and the Indian rupee at the end of the month has seen the best one-day jump since April 16.

Dollar index down

Here at 6 pm, the dollar index was down by 0.076 percent at 93.002. This index shows the strength of the Indian currency against the six major currencies. US bond yields are flat. It was at the level of 1.344 percent on Thursday.
