The growth of the Indian gaming market over the past year has been documented. Growth is driven by increased smartphone and Internet penetration, but the report noted that it also helped increase the supply of world-class game titles, local content, and new features. He said the covid lockdown last year was a "turning point" for the gaming industry in India.

However, despite the growth of the online gaming segment, most players in India still use mobile phones to play games. Mobile phones accounted for 94% of the country's consumer base, with PCs and consoles accounting for 9% and 4%, respectively.

The report estimated the value of India's online gaming segment at 13,600 million rupees and said it would grow to an incredible 21% annual growth rate of 29,000 rupees over the next five years.
